Persona

Vivian Liu

Author: Vivian Liu

Bio: Helloooo -- I'm an incoming M1 at Michigan Medicine interested in correctional healthcare, palliative care, & psychiatry! Here are some things that bring me joy: mochi on my froyo, arts n crafts, books, camping, & scary movies :D

Commentary: Jung poses the persona as "the mask we wear in relation to the world and others . . . It is not necessarily who we really are, but who we want and pretend to be to others and, many times, to ourselves." How do we reconcile the multitude of masks we adorn and rotating roles we play in our daily lives? Amid life's busyness, slowing down and allowing time for reflection has been incredibly necessary and grounding. (& sometimes I think of The Invisible Man chompin on a roasted yam, declarin "I yam what I am!!")
